Snapshot of Hespeler Village

Hespeler VillageThe boundaries of this neighbourhood, as all neighbourhoods in Cambridge, are a little jagged and include all of Cambrian Hills and Woodland Park, as well as about half of Hillcrest and Forbes Park and a small section of the Centennial community. These communities are located north of the 401, west of Townline to Ellis, on the south side of Ellis to Cooper, and east of Cooper north to the Speed River. The western boundary is roughly Franklin, but also includes the area north of Edward and west of Beech.

Hespeler Village is mostly residential, but does include several commercial and recreational facilities. There is a plaza in the southeast corner of the neighbourhood, with a very busy Tim Hortons, a New Orleans Pizza and the local pub, the Duke and Duchess. Along Queen Street, there are several very popular local eateries, including one of our favourites, Monty’s, as well as Ernie’s, and the newer Brownstone Gastropub. For more information on local businesses visit the Hespeler BIA website, hespelervillage.com.

There are lots of great recreational areas to enjoy as well; Forbes Park which hosts an annual Music Festival and is home to the Hespeler Tennis Club, connects to Woodland Park, a 2.5 acres park with trails that run through the center of the neighbourhood. Near where the 2 parks meet is the W.G. Johnson Community Centre, with an indoor pool and meeting rooms, it hosts lots of recreation programs run by the city. Near Ellis and Cooper Streets are the twin pads of the Hespeler Memorial Arena, home to the Hespeler Minor Hockey Association, the Hespeler Shamrocks.

Hespeler Village is one of the hottest real estate markets in the city.  If this popular neighbourhood is one you are interested in be prepared to act quickly.
