The region released it annual report this week citing four intersections in Cambridge, four in Kitchener and two in Waterloo as the regions most dangerous intersections. The Record summarized the reports numbers in their article Are roundabouts the answer for Waterloo Region’s most dangerous roads? Here are some of the highlights:
– Reported collisions involving intoxicated drivers decreased slightly to 1.5 per cent from two per cent in 2010
– Collisions with horse-drawn vehicles stayed the same, six last year and the year before
– The number of collisions increased four per cent from 5809 to 6031
– Most collisions happened on Fridays
– Most happened in October
– 5 p.m. was the most common collision time
– Most were rear-end collisions
